The Stout Beer Rub is developed for lovers of dark, complex flavors.
The base consists of roasted hops and malt that provide the typical bitterness and earthy depth of stout beer, complemented with dark roasted coffee for a smoky espresso note. This powerful rub forms an intense, caramel-like crust on meats such as brisket, beef stews, or pulled pork. Mushrooms and hearty vegetables also gain a unique character thanks to the deep flavors of coffee and hops. Use the rub as a dry rub or mix with a little beer to create a wet paste; then let the meat marinate for several hours to allow the aromas to penetrate well.
Applications
• Excellent for beef brisket, pork belly, or pulled pork.
• Gives mushrooms and portobellos a surprising BBQ character.
• Combine with a dark stout or porter for an extra layer of flavor.
